Tom Cruise promises to make movie with Michael B Jordan: “I’m a huge fan”
Tom Cruise has promised to make a movie in the future alongside Michael B Jordan, claiming to be “a huge fan” of the actor.
Cruise was speaking to Entertainment Tonight on May 18th ahead of the New York premiere of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, in which he claimed he didn’t want to be seen as the “last movie star”.
He said: “I don’t want to be. There’s so many other talented actors out there and I want to see them crush it.”
Among those Cruise mentioned specifically by name was Jordan, enthusing: “I’m a huge fan of his. That film Sinners is amazing,” before adding, “We’re going to make a movie together.”
The potential new film with Jordan comes as just the latest in a long line of current projects for the actor, who as well as fronting the final instalment of Mission: Impossible, is also starring in Top Gun 3, a sequel to Days of Thunder, and an as-yet unnamed movie being directed by Alejandro G Iñárritu. As such, he claimed he won’t stop acting until he’s in his 100s, saying: “I will never stop.”
This is also not the first time Cruise has praised Jordan, who currently stars in Ryan Coogler’s box office smash hit Sinners. Speaking to People, Cruise said of the actor: “He’s dedicated to his brand. I really respect him. Respect Coogler, I love that film. I love the films that they make. It’s brilliant, you know, big cinema… I admire what they do and I love to see people do well in life.”
However, Cruise did not limit the actors he spoke highly of to just Jordan, noting,t“It’s going to be a great summer of movies,” as “We got the John Wick series with Keanu [Reeves] and Ana [de Armas]. You got Brad [Pitt] with F1. I’m looking forward to going and everybody having a good summer.”
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will be released in cinemas on May 23rd.
