Timothy Busfield to be edited out of new Amazon MGM movie amid child sex abuse allegations

Actor Timothy Busfield has reportedly been edited out of an upcoming Amazon MGM movie amid child sex abuse allegations.

The 68-year-old American actor will no longer appear in You Deserve Each Other, according to Variety. The movie, starring Penn Badgley, Meghann Fahy and Kyle MacLachlan, is slated to arrive at some point in 2026.

Additionally, after an arrest warrant was issued for Busfield, an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit starring Busfield, which was due to premiere on January 22nd, was pulled from schedules.

Last week, following a manhunt that lasted several days, Busfield surrendered to authorities in Albuquerque. He faces two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and an open count of child abuse relating to his alleged conduct on the set of The Cleaning Lady.

The warrant for his arrest was issued on January 9th. The investigation into Busfield began in November 2024, following reports from staff at the University of New Mexico Hospital, who told police that they believed children were being groomed on the set of the Fox crime series.

Busfield is accused of engaging in sexually abusing two boys, now aged 11, who he is alleged to have met through the television show, which he directed.

The West Wing actor has vehemently denied the allegations made against him. In a video, obtained by TMZ, he responded to the claims, stating, “I got the call Friday night, I had to get a lawyer. Saturday I got in the car, drove 2,000 miles to Albuquerque. I’m gonna confront these lies. They’re horrible.”

Busfield continued, “They’re all lies and I did not do anything to those little boys and I’m gonna fight it. I’m gonna fight it with a great team, and I’m gonna be exonerated, I know I am, because this is all so wrong and all lies.”
