Timothée Chalamet reveals advice he was given by Leonardo DiCaprio

Dune: Part Two star Timothée Chalamet has revealed the career advice he received by Leonardo DiCaprio regarding superhero movies.

In 2021, during an interview with Time, Chalamet revealed: “One of my heroes — I can’t say who or he’d kick my ass — he put his arm around me the first night we met and gave me some advice. No hard drugs and no superhero movies.”

Now, in a new profile with The New York Times alongside Dune: Part Two director Denis Villeneuve, Chalamet said when asked about appearing in superhero movies: “Well, Leonardo DiCaprio said to me, ‘No superhero movies, no hard drugs.’ Which I thought was very good.”

When probed by Villeneuve, the actor revealed that he would be willing to agree to a superhero movie, if the script blew him away. He added: “I follow them both! But the movie that made me want to act is a superhero movie, The Dark Knight. If the script was great, if the director was great, I’d have to consider it.”

As of yet, the opportunity hasn’t arose for Chalamet to take on a superhero film, and his busy schedule suggests it’s unlikely to occur anytime soon. Following the release of Dune: Part Two, work is expected to begin on a third film in the series, and he is also set to star in the upcoming Bob Dylan biopic, Complete Unknown.

In a four-and-a-half star review of Dune: Part Two, Far Out wrote: “Dune simply has to be seen on the big screen to be truly experienced; any lesser viewing negates its Lawrence of Arabia-indebted cinematography, captivating action sequences and a score of a stultifying, almost deafening quality.”

Dune: Part Two is set to be released in cinemas on March 1st, watch the trailer below.
