The War on Drugs share emotional new video for single 'Holding On'


The War on Drugs have announced their new full-length album A Deeper Understanding, the follow-up to 2014’s Lost in the Dream, will be out August 25 via Atlantic.

As Far Out reported, the Philadelphia-born band have shared their new single ‘Holding On’ having already unearthed ‘Thinking Of A Place’ to celebrate Record Store Day a few weeks back.

Shawn Everett, the engineer who is famed for his work with the likes of Julian Casablancas and Weezer, has been chosen as the man to mix the new The War on Drugs project.

“I kept thinking about an LA record and what that means,” frontman Adam Granduciel previously told said in an interview with Pitchfork. “To me, it means the second Warren Zevon record, but it could also mean Tonight’s The Night. Then I threw my hands in the air and just wanted to make a record with my friends, wherever that may be.”

And now the band have shared the emotionally driven new video for the track. Director Brett Haley the video stars The Wire’s Frankie Faison who returns home after a long absence:
