Yesterday we reported on American indie rock band, The War on Drugs, teasing new music on their social media pages. As I was just finishing that article, the band released another post, unveiling the new album’s title and previewing a few of the song titles.
Today we have more solid information: I Don’t Live Here Anymore, the band’s fifth studio album, is set to be released on October 29. The band describes it as an “uncommon rock album about one of our most common but daunting processes—resilience in the face of despair”. So that sounds like fun.
As part of the of announcement, the band has also released the album’s first single, ‘Living Proof’, which the band had also teased on social media a few days ago.
Also revealed today is a couple of U.K. and Irish tour dates that the band will embark upon next year. As is the case with most artists, especially American artists, the only-recent lifting of the more stringent pandemic restrictions have meant that transcontinental touring can only be scheduled towards the onset of the new year. It’s a bummer, but it’s also a step in the right direction, however slow that step might appear.
The European dates will begin after the band finishes the North American leg of their tour in the first two months of 2022.
