Courtney Love, Warpaint, Kim Gordon and more appear on ‘The Turning’ soundtrack

Courtney Love, Warpaint, Kim Gordon and more big names have contributed to Floria Sigismondi’s new horror film The Turning.

The supernatural horror film, written by Carey W. Hayes, Chad Hayes, and Jade Bartlett, will arrive next year as a modern adaptation of the 1898 horror novella The Turn of the Screw by Henry James.

With Steven Spielberg acting as an executive producer, the film will star the likes of  Mackenzie Davis, Brooklynn Prince, Joely Richardson and Stranger Things actor Finn Wolfhard. “For more than 100 years, a deeply haunting tale has been passed down to terrify audiences,” the synopsis reads. “The Turning takes us to a mysterious estate in the Maine countryside, where newly appointed nanny Kate (Mackenzie Davis) is charged with the care of two disturbed orphans, Flora (Brooklynn Prince) and Miles (Finn Wolfhard). Quickly though, she discovers that both the children and the house are harbouring dark secrets and things may not be as they appear.”

While that should be enough to satisfy your interest, the film has recruited yet more big names to contribute to its soundtrack with 19 big hitters all collaborating. “I read The Turn of the Screw as a kid, so it’s a genuine privilege to have had the opportunity to work with the genius that is Floria Sigismondi and Lawrence Rothman on this soundtrack—especially as I’m alongside so many other fantastic female artists I respect,” Hole’s Courtney Love said.

“I’ve long admired her work, particularly The Runaways and the Marilyn Manson videos. Floria and Lawrence had a clear vision of what they wanted to achieve and it was an honour to be invited into their studio and to become a part of it.”
