The sexiest voice on the UK festival circuit, according to science

A new study has claimed that Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit has the sexiest voice of any musician performing at a UK festival in 2025.

Despite global pop stars such as Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Drake being included in the list, Durst has taken the crown.

Ticket website SeatPick made the claim, basing it on a 2012 study that found the most attractive pitch for a male voice is 96Hz, while for female vocalists, it is 223.5Hz. An obvious flaw in this logic is that the test doesn’t account for subjective or empirical experience.

Durst has an average pitch of 96.8Hz, placing him closest of all included in the study to the desired perfect pitch. Second place went to British singer-songwriter Lola Young, who performed a stellar set at Glastonbury. Her average pitch is 223.25Hz, only 1.84 per cent away from the golden number.

Landing predictably high on the list, Drake lands at number four, while Olivia Rodrigo secured fifth spot. Carpenter, despite her recent success with Short n’ Sweet, which still remains in the top ten in the UK album chart, does not make the top ten. The ‘Espresso’ singer is at 29, while Roan only secured 12th.

Science has often attempted to objectively and logically delineate the best and worst in music. A new study recently found that Lady Gaga’s ‘Just Dance’ was the catchiest pop song of the last 25 years. Another study found that ‘Eye of the Tiger’ is the happiest classic rock song of all time.

Limp Bizkit has recently been on a huge tour supporting Metallica. Later this summer, they will play Reading and Leeds festival. They have also recently revealed that a new project is in the works, which will follow up their 2021 full-length comeback album, Still Sucks.
