‘The Odyssey’ star Samantha Morton claims people should cut back on takeaways to “invest” in seeing the film

Samantha Morton, who stars in the latest Hollywood epic The Odyssey, has urged the public to “invest” in the film by cutting back on takeaways.

The blockbuster movie, being directed by Christopher Nolan, has quickly become one of the most highly anticipated films of the year, with a huge ensemble cast being led by Matt Damon.

The groundbreaking technology that has been used in the film, which was shot entirely on IMAX cameras, has made cinematic history and built major hype ahead of its release on July 17th.

As such, Morton, who plays the role of Circe, was appearing on ITV’s This Morning on July 6th alongside co-star Himesh Patel, when she urged the public to go and see the movie.

“I would say, for people out there who don’t have the money to go to an IMAX, think about how many takeaways you have a week. Think about where the local IMAX is and see this like an event, like you go to Disneyland or Thorpe Park,” Morton said.

She added: “As a family, invest in this, because it will not disappoint, and it will be like, ‘Get that coach ticket to your nearest IMAX’, because that is the only way to see it.”

As much as the general public may not be inclined to cut back on their weekly expenses to see the film, fans of Nolan have had a long time to save their money for The Odyssey, as tickets went on sale a year in advance of its release.

To all intents and purposes, the film is being slated as one of a kind, with Damon, who plays the central role of Odysseus, claiming it was his “last chance” of a major Hollywood role, during an interview with GQ last month.

To this end, Nolan himself has also explained how The Odyssey has been a labour of love throughout his filmmaking journey, revealing it has taken almost 20 years for him to create
