Gunga Gin – The Libertines release small batch booze to celebrate The Albion Rooms in Margate

The Libertines are celebrating completing the first phase of their continued renovation of a 5 storey townhouse in the seaside town of Margate a- AKA The Albion Rooms, by releasing a brand new small-batch gin.

The tipple with naturally be called ‘Gunga Gin’ and will be available to pre-order here. With only 500 bottles scheduled for the initial run unless you’re quick, the only place you’ll be able to taste this ‘black pepper’ and ‘cardamom’ drop is at The Albion Rooms themselves.

The gin, full name: ‘Libertine – Gunga Gin’ has been distilled, blended, bottled and labelled by hand at Silver Circle Distillery in Monmouthshire. From December you will be able to pick up a Gunga Gin at either of the two bars at the band’s new development.

It will be available at both The Albion Rooms and The Waste Land in Margate as well as at the distillery shop and tasting room. With only a short run of bottles on sale now, if you want one you better be quick.

It follows a troubling week for the band who have been dealing, once again, with Pete Doherty’s penchant for pissing off the police. Having been arrested in Paris for allegedly buying cocaine he was soon released only to be banged up again while celebrating his release.

Is it 2005 again?
