The Libertines to play intimate secret London show ahead of huge Gunnersbury Park concert
The Libertines have announced plans to play an intimate, secret show in London, ahead of their huge gig at Gunnersbury Park in two weeks.
The band took to social media on July 26th to reveal the news of their secret concert, explaining that it would take place on July 31st. There are only 250 tickets available, priced at £22.50 each, which fans can sign up to be in with a chance of winning on a first-come, first-served basis.
Scant details have been revealed about the show, only giving away that it is taking place in an “undisclosed venue in West London” and “the band will take to the stage at 7.30pm and are straight on the bus afterwards for more sold out shows in France and Belgium.”
The Gunnersbury Park show on August 9th will come as The Libertines’ final show for their world tour of the album All Quiet on the Eastern Esplanade. They will be joined by the likes of Supergrass, Soft Play, and Lambrini Girls, for a special night which will be the band’s last live appearance for some time.
Confirming this, frontman Pete Doherty said previously: “We are going to take a break, live life a little for a bit and enjoy some time in the wilderness communing with nature, and see where the muse takes us.”
The band have been gearing up to their final performance through a range of huge gigs recently, including on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury and a show at the Eden Sessions in Cornwall on July 13th, in which they were joined by Frank Turner and Sports Team in the supporting slots.
Fans of The Libertines can sign up for the chance of getting tickets to the secret show here.
