The Coral announce details of new UK tour

The Coral have announced that they are set to head out on a new UK tour.

Three years after releasing their last album Sea of Mirrors in 2023, the band made an unexpected and unannounced return last month with their new album 388.

However, after intentionally keeping the album release rollout very low-key, they have revealed that they will be heading out on their first UK tour in two years in support of the new record.

The Coral will be performing a run of dates across the country throughout the end of the year, kicking off on October 2nd at the Foundry in Sheffield.

Thereafter, they will visit Newcastle, Leeds, London, Brighton, Manchester, and Birmingham over the course of October, consisting of small but iconic venues.

Subsequently, the Merseyside band will take a brief break in November before supporting The Mary Wallopers for two huge arena shows in December, playing the 3Arena in Dublin on December 10th, followed by the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on December 18th.

It comes as The Coral’s frontman, James Skelly, previously spoke to Far Out about his ambitions for the album and what prompted them to keep the release so unexpected.

Comparing the ethos of the album to the band’s early days, he said, “There was like a tunnel vision we had, and for this release, we’ve tried to have that same attitude. I don’t give a fuck what anyone else’s opinion is on it. This is what’s happening.”

Skelly also opened up candidly on the fortunes of the band and why they keep pushing forward, adding, “There is a ceiling. I know we’re not going to be massive, and not for everyone. I found this idea interesting, that’s why I did it. I wouldn’t just make an album for the sake of it.”

Tickets for The Coral’s UK tour go on sale on July 3rd from 9.30am local time, via their website.
