The Black Keys announce new album ‘Peaches’ and two headline shows in London

The Black Keys have announced details of their new album, Peaches, set for release on May 1st, 2026.

To preview the upcoming record, which is the 14th studio album of their career, the rock duo have released the bluesy new single, ‘You Got To Lose’, an infectious version of a George Thorogood original that harks back to The Black Keys’ early raw, DIY sound.

Peaches was made during a difficult time in 2025 when Dan Auerbach was caring for his late father following a stroke and an oesophageal cancer diagnosis, using music as a coping mechanism during the emotionally testing times.

Bandmate Patrick Carney rallied around Auerbach, getting him into Easy Eye Sound studios and “made a deliberate pivot back to their raw, early process, recording live in a single room, largely unrehearsed and in one or two takes”, according to press materials.

Auerbach describes Peaches as their “most natural record” since their 2002 debut, The Big Come Up, and said of the process, “We weren’t making a record. We were just jamming, like this is for us.”

The Black Keys frontman continued, “Really primal, in a moment when all the nerves were raw, just kinda screaming. We were going through a lot, trying to lift our spirits. I think my dad getting sick made me not give a fuck and just wanna scream for a bit.”

Meanwhile, Carney, who has known Auerbach since they were children in Ohio, said his initial hope for the sessions was only “that it would be good for Dan to have something to do” to distract him from his father’s illness.

Carney, who mixed the record himself, added, “Everything was all cut live in one with no separation, including vocals. It was a nightmare to mix but we got it sounding raw and filthy.”

For the last few years, Auerbach and Carney have been finding obscure old records for their Record Hang DJ-sets, which shaped the selection of songs on Peaches. “I’d look for 45s specifically to play at the record hangs,” Aurbach explained, “but sometimes I’d find a song and think, ‘This might be fun for Pat and me to play live.’”

Additionally, the former Far Out cover stars have announced two headline shows in London. They will perform at the Eventim Apollo on August 31st and the O2 Brixton Academy on September 1st after headlining Victorious Festival in Portsmouth on August 27th.

Their summer itinerary also includes the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in May, Harriet Island Regional Park in Saint Paul on July 17th and a festival appearance at Paris’ Rock En Seine in August.
