Well, it’s that time of year again. The time we all look forward to. No, not actually Christmas day, but that time pre-Christmas when all the indie bands come out with their suitably snowy full-on festive bangers. Today’s The Big Moon’s turn and we’ve made it our Track of the Day.
The Big Moon are looking to have another bumper year in 2020 following the band’s move from “ones to watch” to “showing them how it’s done” over the last few years, the band have now transcended into the big leagues. They’re now covering Christmas carols.
Though we’re not sure if the track will feature on The Big Moon’s sophomore record Walking Like We Do which arrives early next year, it sure has got us in the spirit of all things Christmas.
In all seriousness, the band’s cover of Mykola Leontovych’s ‘Carol Of The Bells’ truly is a testament to how far they have come. On this track, they offer us a darkly shimmering sense of magic. Juxtaposing their sonic tone with a touching refrain, The Big Moon are a big deal these days.
But not to fall head over heels with their own ego, the band has instead decided to do a little tour of in-store appearances to spread the Walking Like We Do love in 2020, a list of which you can find below the new cover.
