We’re travelling the world through an interactive video mapping out all the locations mentioned in The Beatles’ lyrics.

The map, created by Vanity Fair, allows us to pick up where the Liverpool band started out and follow their global trip through England, Russia, France, India and the United States. Incredibly, the trip around the globe using just lyrics written by The Beatles sees us track 25,510 miles.

Starting things off with ‘Yellow Submarine‘, we’re introduced with the lyrics “In the town where I was born” and transported back to Merseyside. From there we take a trip around the city with stops off at Penny Lane, Strawberry Field, the grave Eleanor Rigby, John Lennon and Paul McCartney’s childhood homes, The Cavern Club, the River Mersey and more.

Leaving Liverpool we hit the capital with a stop off at Buckingham Palace, Abbey Road and stop off for a “Savoy Truffle” from the Savoy Hotel. Into France we see the Eiffel Tower in reference to ‘I Am the Walrus‘ before moving around Europe to enjoy the sights of Amsterdam, Gibraltar, Vienna and more.

After a stop in Rishikesh, India, we also move into Russia before an extensive trip across the Atlantic Ocean allows us to see some of The Beatles’ stomping ground in the United States.

“There are places I remember all my life, though some have changed some for ever not for better Some have gone and some remain.”

Enjoy the 13-minute trip, below.
