The Beatles’ ‘Yellow Submarine’ to get 50th anniversary cinema re-release
Yellow Submarine is returning to cinemas across the UK later this year to celebrate 50 years since its initial release.
The story of the film is the Fab Four heading under the sea as they battle the music-hating Blue Meanies. It features a monster soundtrack including classic hits such as ‘Eleanor Rigby’ and ‘All You Need Is Love’.
The film has been restored in glorious 4K animation and will be shown in Picturehouse Cinemas for one night only on 8 July to mark its 50th anniversary.
Clare Binns, deputy managing director of Picturehouse, said: “I loved Yellow Submarine 50 years ago and it still rocks the universe. This summer, Picturehouse Entertainment is thrilled to bring The Beatles back to the big screen again with a film that makes your heart beat fast.”
