Taylor Swift has been confirmed as the latest headliner for the 50th edition of Glastonbury Festival in 2020.
A strong rumour has been swirling around that Swift was on the shortlist for taking the legendary headline slot on Sunday, bringing an end to one of the most historical editions of the legendary festival. Now it’s been confirmed by the star herself.
With Swift confirming via her Twitter, “I’m ecstatic to tell you that I’ll be headlining Glastonbury on its 50th anniversary. See you there!” it’s hard to not recognise the transcending power of the festival.
One of the original counterculture movement has recently had the great and the good of the mainstream pop world and for its 50th edition that will be no different with the last remaining headliner spot strongly rumoured to be taken by Kendrick Lamar.
Emily Eavis confirmed it was a male who had never played the event before with festival fans all pointing at Lamar.
For now, we can say that Sunday night will be a massive step towards legend status for Taylor Swift.
