Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker makes a guest appearance on Kanye West’s new album Ye.
Parker revealed how he was previously invited by West send over any material the Tame Impala man was currently working on. In response, Parker sent a production sampled of ‘You Keep Me Hangin’ On’, by 60s psych-rockers Vanilla Fudge.
When he didn’t get a response from West, Parker thought that his work had been refused. However, when tuning into the livestream of West’s new record, he heard his samples had been used.
“Holy shit!,” Parker said in reaction to finding out his samples have been used on West’s new record.
“That’s such weird timing! I had this weird premonition of this exact scenario,” he added while in conversation with Linda Marigliano from Australian radio station triple J.
“I was like, ‘Oh, he obviously hasn’t used it’. I hadn’t heard anything back and wasn’t invited [to Wyoming] – that doesn’t bode well.”
