Tame Impala to headline Glastonbury Festival? Kevin Parker discusses…

Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker has been discussing a potential return to Glastonbury Festival.

It was back in 2016 when Parker and Tame Impala got a taste of the iconic Pyramid Stage, the Australian band slotting in between The Last Shadow Puppets and headliner Adele on a marquee Saturday evening. Their set was a rousing success, the sheer amount of confetti and lasers will live long in the memory.

Now, having discussed an impending new album from the band, Parker explained to Matt Wilkinson for Beats 1, that he is well and truly ready to take on Worthy Farm once more.

“What’s funny is that I was chatting to my manager about it, and I was like ‘If we played Glastonbury again, what’s gonna happen?” Parker said when the conversation of Glasto arose. “Because there was talk of maybe headlining The Other Stage,” he added.

“But I was like, ‘We’ve had a taste at the Pyramid Stage now!’ The vibe was so strong! Yeah, I guess so [would headline if asked]. I mean we’d have to double the laser and confetti amount.”

Who can blame him eh?
