Tame Impala announces 2026 UK and European tour alongside new single
Tame Impala are continuing their huge return: they’ve announced details of a UK and European tour, along with a new single, ‘Dracula’.
Kevin Parker’s project will release Deadbeat on October 17th, which marks the follow-up to 2020’s The Slow Rush. ‘Dracula’ adds to two prior singles, ‘End of Summer’ and ‘Loser’.
The new tune adds to the picture Parker has previously painted of the full-length, when he shared that Deadbeat is inspired by bush doof culture. These are electronic music festivals often held in remote bushlands, as popularised in the Western Australia rave scene. This new influence is a means of “recasting Tame Impala as a kind of future primitive rave act in the process.”
Tame Impala previously announced eight US tour dates beginning on Halloween at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and ending in Oakland on November 14th. Now, the project has added four new shows on the US leg. The tour will now enjoy two extra nights at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on October 27th and 28th, and will add two more nights at the end of the run, finishing in Los Angeles on November 17th.
If this wasn’t news enough, Tampe Impala will also play plenty of gigs across Europe and the UK next year, beginning in Porto on April 4th, and winding through stops such as The O2 in London on May 7th, followed by shows in Manchester, Birmingham, and Glasgow.
Far Out have covered the comeback singles closely, writing, “‘End of Summer’ was another left-turn in Parker’s sound, where he fully embraced acid house and EDM influences over the course of a warping seven-minute beast. His latest single, ‘Loser’, plods along with its hands in its pockets, too afraid to take a similar risk and dazzle fans with something that feels like it’s pushing boundaries. It’s by no means a bad song, but the squelching synth-funk unfortunately doesn’t have quite the same impact.”
