“Utmost treachery”: What is the root of the New Order feud?
“I’ll never forgive them…”

Peter Hook is an English musician, songwriter, DJ and record producer best known as the co-founder and bassist of Joy Division and New Order. Widely regarded as one of the most influential bassists in rock history, Hook developed a distinctive melodic, high-register bass style that became a defining feature of both bands’ sound. Following the death of Joy Division vocalist Ian Curtis in 1980, Hook helped form New Order, which fused post-punk with electronic dance music to become one of the most innovative and successful bands of the 1980s. Beyond his work with Joy Division and New Order, Hook has led Peter Hook and the Light, performed as a DJ and author, and continues to celebrate the legacy of his groundbreaking bands through live performances.
Gillian Gilbert and Stephen Morris will not be touring with the band.
Both bands will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year.
The show takes place on June 4th, 2026.
