The one band Ian Anderson called 100 times better than him: “Magic”
Inspiring others to greatness.

Ian Anderson is a Scottish-born British musician, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist best known as the founder, lead vocalist and flautist of Jethro Tull.
Instantly recognisable for his energetic one-legged stage performances and distinctive flute playing, Anderson transformed the instrument into an unlikely rock lead voice, helping define the band’s unique blend of progressive rock, folk rock, hard rock and British folk music. Since forming Jethro Tull in 1967, he has written many of the group’s most celebrated songs and albums, including ‘Aqualung’, ‘Thick as a Brick’ and ‘Songs from the Wood’.
Outside the band, Anderson has enjoyed a successful solo career and remains one of rock’s most innovative and influential musicians.
