Metallica

Metallica are a pioneering heavy metal band that formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1981. The group has become one of the most influential and commercially successful acts in the history of heavy metal, bringing the genre into the mainstream. They have sold over 125 million records sold worldwide.

Metallica’s sound is packed with heavy riffs, lightning-fast guitar solos, and powerful, driving rhythms. Their music is known for its aggressive, intense, and raw energy, which has earned them a devoted fan base and critical acclaim.

Over the years, Metallica has released a string of classic albums, including ‘Master of Puppets’. ‘…And Justice for All,’ and their self-titled LP, widely known as ‘The Black Album’. The band have also won numerous awards, including multiple Grammys and MTV Video Music Awards.

The band’s current lineup consists of James Hetfield on vocals and rhythm guitar, Kirk Hammett on lead guitar, Robert Trujillo on bass, and Lars Ulrich on drums. Their live shows are a spectacle, and they’ve previously headlined Glastonbury Festival.

Metallica’s influence on the heavy metal genre is immeasurable. They have inspired countless bands and musicians, inserting them into the fabric of popular culture.

In recent years, Metallica has continued to push the boundaries of heavy metal, experimenting with new sounds and styles while staying true to their roots. Their latest album, ’72 Seasons,’ was released in 2023 and became their first number one record in the United Kingdom for 15 years.
