Sydney Sweeney was “disappointed” over cut ‘Euphoria’ pole-dancing scenes

Though the final season of Euphoria seemed to be ruled by Cassie Jacobs, played by Sydney Sweeney, the star has now revealed that there were bonus scenes that director Sam Levinson decided to remove from the official episodes.

In the third season of the hit HBO drama, Sweeney’s character works as an OnlyFans model attempting to raise funds for her husband, played by Jacob Elordi, who is in serious debt.

In a new interview with Vanity Fair, the 28-year-old discussed her “disappointment” over a deleted scene which saw her character pole dancing with other sex workers, including one played by global superstar Rosalia.

Sweeney began, “There were some really fun scenes between us when Cassie goes to the strip club with Maddie [played by Alexa Demie] and they’re doing the photoshoots. Cassie starts to see the girls on stage and she gets really excited.”

Sweeney continued, “She’s like, ‘Wow, these girls are beautiful. I could do this.’ She gets wasted and she goes up on the stage, she gets all dressed up and Cassie pole dances. I did lessons for pole dancing, and it was so much fun. Imagine crazy Cassie on a pole, which was hilarious. But man, these girls are strong.”

The Christie star then revealed that she found out the scene was cut only a few days before the episode, which was meant to contain the scenes, aired.

She shared, “He was like, “Hey, it didn’t make sense for the episode.” I was like, “Totally get it.” I definitely was disappointed.”

Noting Sweeney’s disappointment, Levinson ran another idea by her: “But he was like, ‘Maybe we should release it as like behind-the-scenes footage or deleted scenes.’ I was like, please do, because I put a lot of hard work into that.”

In a separate interview, Levinson praised Sweeney’s “fearless” acting abilities. He shared with his interviewer, Bradly Cooper, “She’s just a fascinating actor to work with because we’ll do a few takes and it’ll be great. And then I just go, ‘Well, what happens if we go again? What else would you do?’ I’m always so enchanted.”
