Superfood – A Lily for Your Pad to Rest On

You know us, at Far Out we love anything with a sitar and Superfood’s latest release ‘A Lily for Your Pad to Rest On’ dabbles with the Indian instrument to a funky perfection. Combining Madchester rhythms with the delectable nuance of naughties love the B-Town band have made our Track of the Day.

As well as having a huge tour in conjunction with the NME around the corner, they also have their debut LP Don’t Say That due for release on November 3rd through Infectious Music. It is on that album that ‘A Lily For Your Pad To Rest On’ will welcome new listeners as the album’s opening number. What a welcome it will be. Pure funk and bouncing rhythm intersect with clever lyrics and howling vocals producing 2 minutes of unbridled dancing joy.

Superfood continue to produce piece after piece of slouching, bouncing and generally ‘mad’ music akin to a rough edged Blur/Supergrass sandwich. They will undoubtedly emerge from their upcoming tour fully fledged rock and roll stars and we can’t wait to devour the entirety of the album but until that moment just bounce around, wherever you are, and enjoy ‘A Lily for Your Pad to Rest On’.
