Suede announce new album ‘Antidepressants’

Suede have announced details of their tenth studio album Antidepressants, set for release on September 5th, 2025.

Announcing the news, the band’s frontman Brett Anderson said: “If Autofiction was our punk record, Antidepressants is our post-punk record. It’s about the tensions of modern life, the paranoia, the anxiety, the neurosis.”

Anderson continued: “We are all striving for connection in a disconnected world. This was the feel I wanted the songs to have. The album is called Antidepressants. This is broken music for broken people.”

Following on from their last record, Autofiction, three years ago, the new album’s lead single, ‘Disintegrate’, is available now. It represents the next chapter of the London rock band, over thirty years after their debut album.

For Anderson, ‘Disintegrate’ symbolised a particularly personal arc in his songwriting, reflecting on themes of life and mortality, which contributes to the overall mood that permeates Antidepressants.

He noted, “It is genuinely exciting being in this band. It feels like we’re still pushing creatively,” while bassist Mat Osman added: “This is a widescreen and ambitious record. It’s a big stage record and it’s taking it up a gear.”

In celebration of the album’s release, Suede will embark on a special series of concerts in London during the month of September this year, performing as the Suede Takeover with a mix of new tunes and classic cuts.

They will also put on four shows at the Southbank Centre between September 13th and 19th. Anderson added of the concerts: “Expect old songs, new songs, borrowed songs, blue songs, drama, melody, noise, sweat and a couple of surprises.”

Suede’s latest album Antidepressants will be released on September 5th, 2025, via record label BMG, while tickets for the Suede Takeover shows will be made available on May 23rd.
