Stream Mac DeMarco’s rare 'Old Dog demos'

Mac DeMarco has released Old Dog Demos, now available on streaming sites.

The collection of demo recordings are taken from his most recent studio album This Old Dog. Originally, the demos were to be a vinyl-only release. The early section of the release features tracks that made the cut for This Old Dog. The second half, however, is made up of songs that DeMarco decided against adding to the album, they include the likes of ‘Frog Hollow’, “Jimsy’, ‘Master Yupa’ and a few more.

The move comes after DeMarco announced the bold decision to walk away from his major label in order to release music through his own company.

This is not the first time DeMarco fans have been treated to a string of demo releases. Earlier this summer DeMarco released ‘2 Demos’ and ‘Salad Days Demos’ which were repressed to vinyl in order to celebrate Captured Tracks’ 10 anniversary.

Originally released in 2014, 2 Demos and Salad Days Demos are full of “demos and sketches,” offering “a rare insight into Mac’s world and process.” Each collection features several previously unreleased instrumentals, including 2’s ‘My Kind of Woman’ and Salad Days’ ‘Pepperoni Playboy’.
