LCD Soundsystem have finally released their eagerly anticipated new album American Dream.
It was only yesterday that the band shared new song ‘pulse (v.1)’, the 14-minute psychedelic track that does not appear on their new full length album.
It has been a long seven-year wait for LCD fans for American Dream, the follow-up to 2010’s This Is Happening – but it has certainly been worth it.
“I can take a shower and go to bed,” singer James Murphy said on Twitter about the album. “What a relief,” he added.
In a project that has gone well over its due date, Murphy explained in an in-depth interview with the Guardian, that he is looking to move away from a role in producing music.
“I’m incapable of working in that situation,” he said when comparing his current role to that of Brian Eno. “I can’t produce. I think I’m done producing. I can’t do it.”
“This is the only way I can work.”
