Netflix releases final trailer for ‘Stranger Things’ Season 3 | Watch
Netflix has dropped the final trailer for Stranger Things season three as the July 4th release date edges ever closer.
The final clip, which spans a generous three minutes, confirms major plot lines of the upcoming season and details hot The Mind Flayer, the evil monster of the Upside Down, has been trapped outside in the real world.
Speculation about which direction the show’s creators would take the new season have been rife after fans witness lead character Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown) close the gate to the Upside Down at the end of season two. Now, it would seem, that they made a crucial error by accidentally locking the evil monster outside rather that in.
While we’ve seen Netflix hint at a larger role for the character Billy Hargrove in previous trailers, it would now appear that the evil monster will be attached to Hargrove in the new episodes.
Back in October 2017, executive producer Shawn Levy explained that the production had set out a detailed plan for the episodes in the planning, he said: “It’ll be an eight or nine-episode season.”
He continued: “The number of episodes will be dictated by the amount of story that excites us. We now know what is going to happen in season three to every character.”
Netflix have already confirmed that Stranger Things 3 will debut in summer 2019. “It’s a handcrafted show,” Cindy Holland, VP of Netflix’s original content, explained. “The Duffer brothers and Shawn Levy have worked really hard, and they understand the stakes are high. They want to deliver something bigger and better than what they did last year. And so they really want to take the time to get it right.”
