John Wayne Bobbit Uncut: The strange moment Lemmy starred in a porno

When Lemmy passed away, during his funeral, a multitude of speakers went on stage to deliver heartfelt speeches about him, talking about his influence as a musician and telling stories about the Motörhead lead. It turns out, to the surprise of no one, that Lemmy lived one hell of a life, so much so that acting in a porno sounds relatively mundane.

As the lead singer and bassist of Motörhead, Lemmy was a musician who packed a range of emotion and energy into every song he made. Tracks like ‘Rock It’ and ‘Ace of Spades’ still inspire headbangers to this day. He carried that reckless energy with him in his everyday life, which meant no adventure was too big or too small. It led to him contributing to an adult film in the ‘90s.

“You can’t really call it acting,” laughed Lemmy when he was asked about his appearance in the raunchy feature, “It was just me, walking through em, you know.” He also turned down the opportunity to do more acting gigs, “I don’t have time, you see. That band’s always busy. It means I’ve got to put the rest of the guys on hold, right? Which isn’t really fair to them, is it?”

It’s not what you’re thinking. Lemmy didn’t go full frontal and, how should we put it, take part in the movie; he just had a quick cameo appearance. He walked through one of the scenes and also contributed the song ‘Under the Knife’ for the film soundtrack. It’s not a random song contribution, but the track actually has disturbing tongue-in-cheek connotations about the main actor in the film.

The porno is called John Wayne Bobbitt Uncut; it features the actor John Wayne Bobbitt and was directed by the veteran porn actor Ron Jeremy. It was made during a time when porn films had huge budgets and productions around them, which meant that a lot of care was given to the movie, and it ended up winning an AVN Award.

The reason Lemmy’s song contribution to ‘Under The Knife’ is relatively disturbing is because John Wayne Bobbitt’s penis had been amputated by his wife in 1993. While many thought that would end his career in the adult film industry, he could have it surgically reattached in 1994, the same year he acted in the movie.

When Bobbitt was initially approached about the role by the film’s director, Ron Jeremy, it was to have a similar role to Lemmy, only making a quick cameo in the film as a whole. Bobbitt appreciated Jeremy approaching him but said that he was much more interested in starring in the lead role.

When he was asked about his appearance in the film in 2018, he said, “A porno seemed like the best way to show my penis worked.”
