Stone Temple Pilots guitarist Dean DeLeo arrested on DUI and domestic violence charges

Dean DeLeo, the guitarist for Stone Temple Pilots, was recently arrested for the felonies of DUI and domestic violence.

DeLeo is an original member of the hit Californian grunge band. He was a part of the group from its formation in 1989 until they split in 2003 and has been there since they reconvened in 2008. Famously, DeLeo left behind a career as a successful businessman to join at the behest of his younger brother and bassist, Robert. He also influenced the band to change their name from the original one, ‘Swing’, as he refused to play for an outfit with such a title.

TMZ exclusively reported the news of Dean DeLeo’s recent arrest. Their article states that the musician was detained after his wife, Jenn DeLeo, called law enforcement to inform them that he had left the house intoxicated. In response, the police located the Stone Temple Pilots man, pulled him over, and arrested him.

When he was being registered for driving under the influence at the local police station, Jenn DeLeo called enforcement once more. She alleged that the pair had physically argued before he departed their residence. The police then booked him for felony domestic violence charges, too.

The Stone Temple Pilots guitarist was served an emergency protection order to stay away from his wife. Reportedly, however, he violated this only a week and a half later when he tried to contact her. He did turn himself in for that breach and was released once more.

Jenn DeLeo has now filed for divorce from her husband. This is not the first time she has done so, either. She filed for divorce in 2018, claiming drunken and abusive behaviour and that she feared for her and their then six-year-old daughter’s lives. Following this, they reconciled.

Providing a brief statement to TMZ, Dean DeLeo asserted: “I look forward to having my voice heard at the appropriate time and place to address these allegations.”
