Stevie Nicks extends North American tour
Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks has extended her upcoming North American arena tour, which is set to begin in August.
In April, Nicks initially announced the run of dates and shared her excitement on social media ahead of the tour: “More solo shows are on the way in 2025 – I can’t wait to share these nights with you.”
Nicks was due to play a series of shows with Billy Joel at stadiums this summer. However, due to the singer-songwriter’s diagnosis with the brain disorder, Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH), all of those concerts have been cancelled.
They were due to play the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on August 8th together, but instead, Nicks has now announced a new tour date at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on the same night, which will kick off her tour.
Additionally, two new shows have been added for September in Hollywood, Florida and Detroit. In October, Nicks has announced further dates in Portland, Sacramento, Atlantic City, Charlotte and Hartford.
According to press materials, the upcoming set of shows promises that “Nicks will continue to enchant audiences with her unmistakable voice, poetic lyrics and transcendent live performances.”
Nicks is currently in the process of writing her first new album in 14 years, which could be previewed on her North American tour. At the Pollstar Hall of Fame awards in April, she explained she is “actually making a record right now” and said it “just kind of happened in the last couple of weeks”.
She continued: “I have seven songs and they are autobiographical, real stories where I’m not pulling any punches for probably the first time in my life. They’re not airy-fairy songs that you’re wondering who they’re about, but you really don’t get it. They are real stories, memories of mine, of fantastic men.”
