‘South Park’ postpones new episode hours before planned broadcast
South Park has announced the latest episode of the ongoing 27th season won’t air on September 17th as originally planned.
The long-running animated series has been premiering episodes on a bi-weekly basis throughout the current season. The last episode, ‘Wok Is Dead’, aired on September 3rd.
Now, in a statement, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone confirmed they missed the deadline for this week’s episode. As a result, it will be shown on September 24th.
The duo said, “Apparently when you do everything at the last minute sometimes you don’t get it done. This one’s on us. We didn’t get it done in time. Thanks to Comedy Central and South Park fans for being so understanding. Tune in next week.”
The remaining episodes of South Park’s 27th season will air on September 24th, October 15th, October 29th, November 12th, November 26th, and December 10th.
In the most-recent episode, ‘Wok Is Dead’, Satan revealed he was pregnant with Donald Trump’s child, telling Jesus Christ of their relationship, “You think I don’t want to leave? I am bound to him! I want to leave him, but I can’t because I’m pregnant. I am forced to stay in this situation for several more years.”
Trump has become a central focus of the series. An earlier episode of the 27th season also mocked the late Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk, who saw the funny side of Cartman attempting to follow in his footsteps as a “master debator”. Cartman also attends a ceremony for ‘The Charlie Kirk Award for Young Masterdebaters’ in ‘Got A Nut’.
Kirk, who even shared his TikTok display picture to Cartman, shared on the same social media platform that he found it “hilarious”, before adding, “We have a good spirit about being made fun of. This is all a win. We as conservatives have thick skin, not thin skin, and you can make fun of us and it doesn’t matter.”
In light of Kirk’s passing, a scheduled repeat of ‘Got A Nut’ on September 10th was removed from Comedy Central’s schedule. However, it is still available to stream on Paramount+.
