‘South Park’ responds after Homeland Security use ICE image from show as advert
South Park has called out Homeland Security for using an image from the trailer for their second episode, after the first took aim at Donald Trump and elicited a swift response from the White House.
The show was embroiled in scandal after its first episode, ‘Sermon on the Mount,’ was released on July 23rd. At one point during this episode, Trump is seen in bed with regular South Park character Satan. Topics include Trump’s attacks on Canada, the recent cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the Epstein list, wokeness, and the president’s lawsuit against Paramount.
On July 30th, the show posted a short trailer for its next episode, which will continue its tirade against Trump and air on August 6th. The show appears to tackle the ICE raids in LA and expand on Trump’s infatuation with Satan.
Despite the White House initially slamming the show in a vitriolic statement, Homeland Security posted an image on X from the upcoming episode depicting an ICE raid. They also posted a recruitment link for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
This is a change in tone from the White House’s first comments, which wrote that the show has no original ideas and “hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.”
Initially reacting to the Republican backlash of the first episode, Parker was unfazed. He had a short reply for White House officials by sarcastically saying: “We’re terribly sorry.” He followed up the comment with a long, deadpan-comic stare. Now, the official South Park X account responded to Homeland Security with the equally laconic, “Wait, so we ARE relevant? #eatabagofdicks.”
The new episode is titled ‘Got A Nut’, and the official description reads: “When Mr. Mackay loses his job, he desperately tries to find a new way to make a living.” In the trailer, the character is shown in the back of an ICE raid truck.
The new trailer also parodies Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who has a heated spat with a student, mirroring Kirk’s discussions with students on college campuses. “You can just shut up, Bebe, because you hate America and you love abortions,” Cartman shouts. Kirk also posted the clip to X, changing his picture to reflect his new animated form and writing, “I’m so watching this.”
