Sharon Stone claims she was removed from ‘Another Simple Favor’ cast

Sharon Stone has claimed that she was cast in Paul Feig’s new movie, Another Simple Favor, before being abruptly removed.

The sequel to the original 2018 comedy crime thriller reunites Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively in the lead roles. Original cast members Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Joshua Satine, Ian Ho and Kelly McCormack have also reunited for the project.

Although Stone’s involvement has never been reported on and it’s unknown which character she was allegedly set to play, she posted under an ENews Instagram reel about the film, “I LOVED being cast and removed from my role unexpectedly for no reason at all LOVED it (three clapping emojis)”.

Set for release on May 1st, Another Simple Favor recently enjoyed its premiere at SXSW in Austin with Lively and Kendrick in attendance. The original movie follows Stephanie (Kendrick), a single mother who seeks to discover the mystery behind Emily Nelson’s (Lively) disappearance, working with her husband, Sean.

The sequel’s synopsis reads: “Stephanie Smothers and Emily Nelson reunite on the beautiful island of Capri, Italy for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman. Along with the glamorous guests, expect murder and betrayal to RSVP for a wedding with more twists and turns than the road from the Marina Grande to the Capri town square.”

Feig recently defended Lively after a report accused her of refusing to promote the film due to her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni. However, according to Feig, this isn’t true, writing on social media, “This is total BS. Sorry. The movie is finished and coming out soon. Don’t believe anything you read on social media these days.”

Although the original movie was a box office success, the sequel will be released directly on Amazon Prime Video on May 1st.
