Sex Pistols and Frank Carter extend North American tour
The new incarnation of the Sex Pistols, fronted by Frank Carter, have extended their North American tour, which is scheduled for later this year.
The run of dates is set to begin on September 16th, 2025, in Dallas at the Longhorn Ballroom. More headline dates will follow at iconic venues such as the legendary 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C., the Fillmore in Philadelphia, the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, and the Mission Ballroom in Denver.
Elsewhere on the run of dates, the punk icons will stop by for shows in Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Cleveland, Seattle, San Francisco and Las Vegas.
Additionally, they will be stopping off at Riot Fest in Chicago and the one-day celebration of CBGBs in Brooklyn, which is scheduled for September 27th. Iggy Pop, Johnny Marr, Lambrini Girls, Marky Ramone, The Damned, Lunachicks, and the Melvins will also appear at the latter.
Tickets for the CBGB Festival will go on sale on May 16th. The following day, a limited number of discounted tickets will be available from the Music Hall of Williamsburg, priced at $73, in homage to the year the club opened. The festival will also feature reduced admission for New York residents under the age of 25.
When Sex Pistols initially announced their North American tour, Carter explained how he believes the band are necessary right now, stating to ABC News: “I think everybody needs this band right now. I think the world needs this band right now. And I think definitely America is screaming out for a band like the Sex Pistols.”
John Lydon recently criticised the band, telling the PA: “They’ve killed the content, or done their best to, and turned the whole thing into a rubbish, childishness, and that’s unacceptable.”
The former Sex Pistols singer added of the band’s legacy: “Sorry, I’m not going to give a helping hand to this any longer, as far as I am concerned, I am the Pistols, and they’re not.”
