Sex Pistols and Frank Carter announce ‘Anarchy in the UK’ tour

Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and Glen Matlock of Sex Pistols are joining forces with Frank Carter once more for a new tour in December, titled Anarchy in the UK.

The tour will kick off in Dublin on December 7th, and stop in Edinburgh and Glasgow before making its way down to the British capital, for a night at Brixton Academy, and a final show at Eventim Apollo.

The short tour is in celebration of 50 years of punk, as Sex Pistols took London by storm with mythic shows at venues such as The Marquee, The 100 Club, The Nashville, and a residency at the El Paradiso strip club.

In 1976, the band also entered the studio to record the first tracks of what would end up being the legendary album, Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols.

In light of the new tour, Cook has recalled his experience of the tumultuous year, sharing, “I think we tapped into a feeling of unrest around the country at the time. The message was pretty simple – just have a go and get out there and do whatever you want to do. It was a new world.”

In 2024, the four musicians joined forces, performing in the likes of Australia to Japan, including European festivals and a legendary show at the Royal Albert Hall for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Cook reflected on this time: “We’ve had a blast. People want to come and see us play live. If I must say so myself, we are a great live band!”

This summer, the band is also set to play shows at Halifax’s The Piece Hall and Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl in July, as well as Cardiff Castle and Scarborough Open Air Theatre in August.
