Self Esteem confirmed to open new London venue, British Airways ARC

Self Esteem has been confirmed as the opening performer at the new London venue, British Airways ARC.

The new 3,800 capacity venue in London, which claims to be state-of-the-art, is located above the existing West Exhibition Hall in Olympia.

British Airways ARC was announced last November. It is part of a £1.3 billion regeneration of Olympia, which also includes a 1,575-seat theatre, 30 bars, restaurants and food establishments, plus two hotels and 550,000 square feet of office space.

It is the first venue of its size to have been built from the ground up in the English capital for more than a decade.

Now, it has been confirmed that Self Esteem will be the first act at the venue, performing two shows on June 16th and June 17th.

Additionally, McFly are set to take to the stage at the British Airways ARC on June 18th, Zac Brown Band will perform on June 25th, and Khalid has been announced for October 24th.

Then, on November 21st, the British Airways Arc will host a celebratory evening remembering John Coltrane, which will see Branford Marsalis Quartet and Dianne Reeves perform his classic compositions.

In a statement, Lucy Noble, senior vice president at UK venues at AEG, said of the launch, “We are very proud of our newest venue and to have this line up of the first incredible artists set to play is a fantastic way to begin the British Airways ARC story.”

Noble continued, “When fans come to see shows at British Airways ARC they are going to be able to enjoy world class facilities across everything from sound to seating and we really can’t wait to open the doors.”

Ahead of taking to the stage in London this summer, Self Esteem is currently starring in a West End production of Teeth ‘N’ Smiles, which is set to conclude in June.

Her summer touring itinerary also includes an outdoor show at Museum Gardens in York, as well as appearances at festivals including Latitude and Camp Bestival.
