Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs trial: Allies seeking a pardon from Donald Trump
As the trial regarding Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ sexual assault charges continues to proceed, sources close to the disgraced rapper have claimed that he is seeking a pardon from President Donald Trump.
The rap mogul, real name Sean Combs, is attempting to dodge major sexual assault charges stemming from his alleged abuse of his ex-partner, Cassie Ventura. Since then, multiple people have come forward to accuse the rapper of sexual assault allegations and various activities involving underage men and women at his “freakoff” parties.
Now, sources close to Rolling Stone have claimed many major players in the rap industry are calling upon the president to prevent Combs from being incarcerated for his alleged crimes. In an effort to shine a positive light on Combs, the statement emphasises the fact that Combs’s case has nothing to do with business, stating, “This is about Sean Combs’ private, personal sex life, which has nothing to do with his lawful businesses”.
The source also states that the main objective Combs has with this move is to avoid any jail time, saying, “He’s willing to do anything to get out of jail. He’s always been this way. He’s always going to do what he has to do to get out of a situation.”
Both millionaires have also expressed their mutual admiration for each other over the years. Trump had previously been complimentary towards Combs while on The Apprentice, and prior to Trump’s first presidency, Combs had been advocating for the businessman to take office, claiming that the country under Barack Obama had “shortchanged” the Black community.
This is also far from the first time Trump has pardoned musicians. During his first term, Trump was able to grant clemency to Death Row Records’ mogul and close friend of Snoop Dogg, Michael ‘Harry-O’ Harris.
Amid the various accusations levelled at Combs, many of the biggest names in the music industry have had attention thrown on them due to their proximity to the rap mogul during their career, many of whom have been called to speak in court.
As of yet, there has been no word on the rap star’s sentence, and his team has made no further comments regarding his affiliation with Trump.
