Sarah Paulson unveils tattoo to celebrate Diane Keaton’s 80th birthday

Sarah Paulson has celebrated the 80th birthday of her late friend, Diane Keaton, with a new tattoo.

Oscar-winner Keaton died on October 11th, aged 79. Her family later confirmed that the legendary actor died due to pneumonia.

Following the outpouring of love for the Annie Hall star after her death, the Keaton family said in a statement, “The Keaton family are very grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received these past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane, who passed away from pneumonia on October 11.”

Notably, Paulson worked with Keaton on the 1999 movie, The Other Sister, in which the late actor portrayed her mother.

While they didn’t work together again, the experience on set led to the pair growing extremely close and remaining so until Keaton’s death.

Now, Paulson has taken to social media to share an image of her with Keaton, as well as unveiling a new tattoo featuring her late friend’s initials, “DK”, on her wrist.

Paulson wrote on Instagram, “You would have been 80 today. Too many deep feelings to put here… I was the luckiest person in the world to have traveled, laughed so hard we cried, watched a million and one movies, really cried, and eaten French fries with you.”

She emotionally continued, “You. You. Wondrous, singular, YOU. I will miss you till the end of time.”

The actor concluded her post by thanking the tattoo parlour for doing her late friend justice with the art, writing, “Thank you Winterstone for my forever reminder, of one of my forever people.”

Last month, at THR’s Women in Entertainment Gala, Paulson reflected on their friendship, describing Keaton as a “class act” and explaining how they would go over lines on the set of The Other Sister at the end of the day “even though at that time she had a two-year-old daughter at home waiting for her.”

Paulson also read out an e-mail that she wishes that she was able to send, which includes the following passage, “I want to tell you, I will miss you forever and I continue to be a moron, and I know that you would be heartened to know that. But most of all, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for being my friend, Sarah Paulson.”
