Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever share brilliant new track ‘In The Capital’
Coming across Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever last year was one of the better things we did with our time. Their brilliant slant on the indie-rock genre felt fresh and removed form the murky past of the late noughties. Their latest song ‘In The Capital’ is another extension of this ethos and we couldn’t be happier about it. It’s our Track of the Day.
To say that Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever had a good 2018 would be somewhat of an understatement. They released their critically acclaimed debut LP Hope Downs which not only kept fans of early EPs Talk Tight and The French Press happy but also gathered up a whole new group of fans along the way. It was a success that saw them largely lauded as one of 2019’s hottest prospects.
The track, ‘In The Capital’ will also feature on a limited edition 7-inch alongside a second A-side single, titled ‘Read My Mind’. The vinyl is set for release via Sub-Popon April 26th and is available to pre-order now. To celebrate the highly-anticipated arrival of new music, the band have also announced extensive touring plans for the UK and Europe this summer.
Fran Keaney describes how ‘In The Capital’ came together: “I first had the idea for the melody and some of the lyrics when I was swimming. It’s taken a while to finish the song, to make it feel like the initial feeling. I can’t neatly describe it, but something like connection despite distance. I was thinking about transience and water and death and big cities and fishing towns and moon river.”
