Roger Waters shares a touching cover of John Prine’s ‘Paradise’

When the news of John Prine’s death swirled around the music scene there was a collective sadness. One person who felt the gravity of Prine’s passing more than others was Roger Waters.

The former Pink Floyd man took to his social media channels yesterday to share a touching cover of the singer’s wonderful song ‘Paradise’.

Waters followed a host of other artists who have paid tribute to the singer-songwriter since the news of his death arrived last week. Jeff Tweedy, Jim James and many more have all contributed.

The US folk legend, Prine, died on Tuesday due to complications from COVID-19. Waters shared the song with a succinct message, “My friend [John Prine] died. This is his song, ‘Paradise’,” he continued, “Miss you, brother.”

Waters shared the poignant cover with a tear in his eye as he paid tribute to his friend, the wonderful John Prine.
