Rod Stewart cancels another Las Vegas show due to health issues amid Glastonbury
Rod Stewart has cancelled another show in Las Vegas, scheduled for June 5th, due to doctor’s orders.
Stewart recently concluded a tour of Europe, which saw him visit cities such as Lisbon, Malmö, Oslo, and Dortmund before returning to Las Vegas for more dates of his residency at Caesars Palace. However, due to ill health, he was forced to postpone his June 1st show, and now his June 5th concert will no longer go ahead.
In a message on social media, Stewart shared: “I’m awfully sorry to have to cancel my show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. My doctor ordered a bit more rest while I recover from the flu. Thanks for your love and understanding.”
His previous show, scheduled for June 1st, has since been rescheduled for June 10th. However, there is currently no information about when his concert on June 5th will go ahead in the future.
Additionally, Stewart is still set to perform at the same venue on June 7th and June 8th. His North American tour will then visit Rancho Mirage, Stateline and Paso Robles before he briefly returns to the UK to perform at Glastonbury Festival.
At this year’s event, Stewart will perform on the Pyramid Stage on June 28th for the legend’s set. It marks his first appearance at the festival since he headlined in 2002.
Due to him being on the road in North America before and after his Glastonbury set, Stewart previously revealed he will be losing money by performing at Worthy Farm. He told TalkSPORT last year: “It’s going to cost me a fortune to do it – $300,0000. I’ve got to bring all my band back from America, of course Glastonbury don’t pay for that. But I don’t care if it cost me $1 million, I would have done it. This is a great honour. It really is the greatest honour.”
Meanwhile, in a recent appearance on The Peter Crouch Podcast, he revealed that his Faces bandmate Ronnie Wood will join him for his set.
