Robyn hits out against Elon Musk: “I always hated him”
Robyn has made it very clear that she does not like tech billionaire and Tesla founder, Elon Musk: Not now, and not ever.
The ‘Dancing on My Own’ singer recently appeared on Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers’ Las Culturistas podcast. In the video uploaded on January 14th, Robyn turns her attention to Musk.
“I always hated him,” Robyn told the hosts. “Way before it was cool to hate him.”
She went on, “There was a time when it wasn’t cool to hate him — people didn’t think about him that much, at least.”
Robyn added, “For me, I started hating him when he put a Tesla in space with a David Bowie song on it … as if there wasn’t enough shit floating around.”
In her eyes, she expressed, “There should be democracy in space. The fact that anyone or a commercial company can decide what to do with natural resources and also do tacky things, like sending a stupid fucking car into space that’s also dangerous for people.”
Here, Robyn is referring to a 2018 incident which saw Musk promote his Tesla and SpaceX companies in a bold move, sending off his car into space while ‘Space Oddity’ played in an endless loop.
Expressing her scorn over such a lacklustre use of the David Bowie hit, Robyn also declared, “[It’s] the best song in the world, and he put it in — just to sell cars.”
However, she also added, “But I also think we should hate on Jeff Bezos.”
Musk also found himself in Billie Eilish’s firing line recently, when she called him a “fucking pathetic pussy bitch coward” in reaction to the news that he is set to become the world’s first trillionaire, despite global austerity levels worsening.
Musk will soon see his likeness on the big screen, after it was announced in 2025 that director Luca Guadagnino reportedly secured actor Ike Barinholtz to play Musk in his upcoming movie, Artificial.
