Ringo Starr has shared a brand new single featuring his old Beatles bandmate Paul McCartney as well as an all-star cast. The single, ‘Here’s to the Nights’, precedes a highly-anticipated brand new EP entitled Zoom In.
McCartney isn’t the only familiar voice in the song. Ringo Starr also managed to snag the talents of Jenny Lewis, Sheryl Crow, Dave Grohl, Lenny Kravitz, Eric Burton, FINNEAS, Corinne Bailey Rae and many more. It’s a star-studded single that hints at a prosperous new record.
The big new Beatles release this week may well be Paul McCartney’s upcoming McCartney III, but Ringo Starr has also made his presence felt with a new song and the announcement of Zoom In. ‘Here’s to the Nights’ is a classic piece of Starr’s personality, which, considering he didn’t pen the song is quite the tribute.
In a press release, Ringo Starr explained: “When Diane presented this song to me I loved the sentiment of it. This is the kind of song we all want to sing along to, and it was so great how many wonderful musicians joined in. I wanted it out in time for New Year’s because it feels like a good song to end a tough year on.
“So here’s to the nights we won’t remember and the friends we won’t forget—and I am wishing everyone peace and love for 2021,” concluded the always affable star.
Judging by this release, the new Ringo Starr EP could be some of his finest work. Find the tracklisting for Zoom In below the brand new single ‘Here’s to the Nights’.
