Ridley Scott says a new ‘Alien’ film is in the works

Ridley Scott has stated that a brand new Alien film is in the works.

Scott directed the 1979 classic as well as a prequel series, which was composed of 2012 effort Prometheus and 2017 picture Alien: Covenant, and follows the exploits of the David 8 android and the creators of the eponymous creatures referred to as the ‘Engineers’.

The legendary director was speaking with Forbes and seemed to confirm that his involvement with the franchise is far from dead. However, it doesn’t sound like he will be delivering another prequel like the last two occasions.

“We went down a route to try and reinvent the wheel with Prometheus and Covenant,” Scott said. “Whether or not we go directly back to that is doubtful because Prometheus woke it up very well.”

“But you know, you’re asking fundamental questions like, ‘Has the Alien himself, the facehugger, the chestburster, have they all run out of steam? Do you have to rethink the whole bloody thing and simply use the word to franchise?’ That’s always the fundamental question,” he added.

Let’s see what tricks Scott has got up his sleeve to keep the franchise fresh.
