Richard Ashcroft announces huge arena show in Manchester
Richard Ashcroft has announced a major headline show at Co-op Live in Manchester later this year.
The former Verve frontman is set to play the state-of-the-art arena, which opened in 2024, on November 8th, 2025. Tickets for the mammoth concert are set to go on sale at 9:30am on July 18th. He previously supported Pearl Jam at the same venue last year.
Earlier this month, Ashcroft confirmed details of his forthcoming album, Lovin’ You, set for release on October 3rd. He co-produced the new LP, which contains the recent single ‘Lovin’ You’, alongside collaborators Chris Potter and Emre Ramazanoglu.
Ashcroft is currently playing a crucial role as the main special guest on Oasis’ triumphant reunion tour. So far, he’s wowed audiences in Cardiff and Manchester with his catalogue of hits, which has been getting crowds into full voice before Oasis take to the stage.
Oasis and Ashcroft have a long history, which makes him a fitting act to join them on the record-breaking UK and Ireland tour. He was the inspiration behind ‘Cast No Shadow’, and also provided backing vocals on ‘All Around The World’.
Oasis supported The Verve for the first time in 1993 when both bands were unknown. Four years later, they supported Oasis for two shows at London’s Earls Court when Oasis were the biggest group in Britain and The Verve were firmly on their journey to the top. Now, in 2025, they are taking millions of fans on an exhilerating trip down memory lane.
Before the tour got underway, Ashcroft appeared on Radio X and explained why he was the only person who could take the slot, sharing, “I said to Noel, I think I’m the only person who could go in this slot, especially for a huge outdoor show. Because everyone wants you lot, and unless you’re coming with something and unless you have something to offer, I don’t know what’s gonna happen.”
Ashcroft then touched on his relationship with the band over the years, recalling: “I’ve been there almost in that whole story right from the day one, before the first album came out. They were mega successful before I was. They did everything first. They were on top of the pops; by the time it was my turn, it’s like yeah, but they’ve been all over it!”
Oasis’ tour is set to resume on July 16th at Heaton Park in Manchester.
