Rebecca Ferguson in talks to co-star with Timothee Chalamet in ‘Dune’ reboot

Rebecca Ferguson is currently in negotiations to co-star alongside Timothee Chalamet in the upcoming Dune reboot, according to reports.

The film, which is directed by Denis Villeneuve who’s previous work includes Blade Runner 2049 and Prisoners, also sees the likes of Mary Parent, and Cale Boyter, with Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Thomas Tull, and Kim Herbert join the producing team.

Taken from Frank Herbert’s classic series of science fiction novels, the script for the forthcoming film has been written by Eric Roth, whose screenplay credits include Forrest GumpMunich, and others.

There have been many attempts to remake Dune following David Lynch’s masterful 1984 film, none with such backing as this one, however.

Set in a dystopian future, Dune takes us to the year 10191 where a spice called melange is the most valuable substance known in the universe, and its only source is the desert planet Arrakis.
