Reading and Leeds 2025: Watch Chappell Roan cover Heart’s ‘Barracuda’

During a riotous Reading Festival set, pop superstar Chappell Roan covered Heart’s ‘Barracuda’ on the Main Stage.

On August 22nd at Reading festival, the likes of Wallows, Bloc Party, The Linda Linda’s and The Kooks performed jubilant sets for almost 100,000 attendees, before Roan took to the Main Stage for a set that Hozier later followed up.

Roan began the set with her hit ‘Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl’, followed by ‘Femininomenon’. As he reached the half-way point of the set, she decided to switch things up, and offered the young audience a cover of a 1977 classic, ‘Barracuda‘.

She strutted across the stage for the rock number, wowing with spectacular vocals. During a guitar break in the song, Roan got on her knees, and whipped her hair around her guitarist, who later walked out on the stage runway to shred the guitar for fans at the barrier.

Roan was overcome with emotion during the set, at one point shouting to the huge crowd, “Thank you for loving me and standing with me. This is a dream come true, seriously.”

For the penultimate song of the 17-track show, Roan played her Swift-esque hit ‘My Kink is Karma’. She introduced the song cheekily, with the statement, “I dedicate this song to my ex, who is in the crowd tonight.”

Roan has played this song live before, citing it as one of her favourite songs of all time. She debuted it live on October 3rd, 2024, during her Midwest Princess Tour in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She has also performed the cover in Austin City Limits 2024, and Primavera Sound in Barcelona in June 2025.

Elsewhere at the festival, The Kooks welcomed Hollywood star Rebel Wilson to the stage for an unexpected cover of Coolio’s ‘Gangsters Paradise’. Over at Leeds Festival, rapper Travis Scott reportedly ended his Friday night headline set after just 55 minutes.
