Razzies 2025: The full winners list revealed
Ahead of the Academy Awards, which will take place in Los Angeles on March 2nd, the full winners list has been revealed for the Razzies, officially known as The Golden Raspberry Awards.
Marvel’s Madame Web was the unfortunate winner of ‘Worst Picture’ at the ceremony. The movie’s star, Dakota Johnson, also landed the gong for ‘Actress’. Additionally, the much-maligned film was given the prize for ‘Screenplay’.
Shortly after the film’s release, Johnson described Madame Web as a “learning experience” and admitted in an interview with Bustle, “I had never done anything like it before. I probably will never do anything like it again, because I don’t make sense in that world.”
Meanwhile, Joker: Folie à Deux was the most nominated movie heading into the event, which aims to celebrate the worst films of the last 12 months, with seven nods. In the end, the Todd Phillips movie won two awards, including ‘Screen Combo’ for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga.
Ahead of the awards, Francis Ford Coppola proudly took to Instagram to share his glee at winning the accolade for ‘Worst Director’.
While most decide to pretend the Razzies doesn’t exist, Coppola instead took the honour in his stride, writing, “I am thrilled to accept the Razzie award in so many important categories for Megalopolis, and for the distinctive honour of being nominated as the worst director, worst screenplay, and worst picture at a time when so few have the courage to go against the prevailing trends of contemporary moviemaking!”
Coppola also stated that he views the craft of filmmaking as an art and doesn’t care about the opinion of critics, adding, “In this wreck of a world today, where ART is given scores as if it were professional wrestling, I chose to NOT follow the gutless rules laid down by an industry so terrified of risk that despite the enormous pool of young talent at its disposal, may not create pictures that will be relevant and alive 50 years from now.”
