Razzie Awards 2024: The full list of winners
The Razzie Awards have revealed their set of winners for 2024, with the Winnie the Pooh slasher movie Blood and Honey sweeping up at the virtual ceremony.
John Wilson and Mo Murphy founded the Razzies in 2024, celebrating the worst offerings served up by the film industry over the last twelve months. The annual event traditionally runs ahead of the prestigious Academy Awards, set to take place on March 10th. This year’s Razzies was hosted by the Mean Gays, who have formed a partnership with the ceremony.
Going into the virtual ceremony, Sylvester Stallone‘s fourth Expendables movie, picked up seven nominations and was victorious in two categories. Stallone was named ‘Worst Supporting Actor’ and Megan Fox took home ‘Worst Supporting Actress’.
Additionally, Fox was given the ‘Worst Lead Actress’ award for her performance in Johnny & Clyde, where she starred alongside Avan Jogia. Furthermore, Jon Voight was given ‘Worst Lead Actor’ for Mercy.
However, the overarching victor from the Razzies was Blood and Honey. It was named ‘Worst Picture’, Rhys Frake-Waterfield earned ‘Worst Director’ and ‘Worst Screenplay’. Meanwhile, Pooh and Piglet won ‘Worst Screen Couple’. The film was also awarded ‘Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off or Sequel’.
Blood and Honey marked one of the first projects to made since the expiration of the copyright for A.A. Milne’s books based on Winnie the Pooh, which Disney held until recently. Per US law, copyrights expire 95 years after a work is first published. Winnie-the-Pooh debuted in 1926.
Frake-Waterfield previously revealed Blood and Honey had led to him receiving death threats, stating to AFP in 2023, “Look, this is mental. I’ve had petitions to stop it. I’ve had death threats. I’ve had people saying they called the police.”
